Your owner's manual sets the target: a viscosity, a performance spec, and often a wet-clutch requirement, since many ATV and UTV engines share one oil across the engine, gearbox, and clutch. Match those requirements first, then worry about package size. Car oil off the shelf is not built for that job.

Your owner's manual lists the viscosity and performance spec your engine needs, and that is always the place to start. Most modern machines call for a powersports oil, commonly 10W-40 or 5W-50, that also protects a wet clutch. Match the manual for your exact year and model, then match the label.
Car oil is not built for a wet clutch. Many automotive formulas carry friction modifiers that can make a shared clutch slip. If your ATV runs one oil through the engine and clutch, use a powersports oil that carries the rating your manual calls for and skip the experiment.

Confirm the coolant chemistry your machine takes and whether the product is premixed or a concentrate. If you do not know what is in the system now, drain and flush before refilling instead of mixing unknown coolants. Your manual lists the capacity and the air-bleed procedure.
Use it on reusable foam filters and any media designed to be cleaned and re-oiled. Paper filters get replaced, not oiled. Clean the foam, let it dry completely, work the oil through evenly, and squeeze out the excess before the filter goes back in the airbox.
