AMSOIL 100% Synthetic Chaincase & Gear Oil goes in the sealed case that turns your track or sends power through a small gear housing. Use it for snowmobile chaincases, ATV gearcases, general equipment cases, and Arctic Cat Diamond Drive units when the manual calls for this style of fluid. The oil brings extreme-pressure protection for chain plates and gear teeth, a 136 viscosity index, and a -46°C (-51°F) pour point. Check the drain plug, fill plug, and capacity before you crack the case open.
Match it to the case
Put this oil in enclosed chains and gears, not in an engine, transmission, or open chain. Snowmobile chaincases, ATV gearcases, general equipment housings, and Arctic Cat Diamond Drive gearcases are the listed targets. That sealed case runs on one small fill, so the fluid has to fight rust, oxidation, foam, and water until the next service.
Treat the machine manual like the final call. A sled chaincase, a quad gearcase, and a Diamond Drive can sit under the same brand family and still use different fill points and capacities. Make sure the case asks for chaincase or gearcase fluid before you drain it.
Use the replacement list carefully
Cross-check the bottle you have been using. It replaces Arctic Cat Synthetic Chain Lube #4639-363 and Synthetic ACT Gearcase Fluid #5639-219, #4639-361, and #4639-628. It also replaces Ski-Doo and Can-Am XPS Mineral Chaincase Oil #415129500 plus XPS Synthetic Chaincase Oil #293600138 and #9779156.
Polaris SCL Synthetic Chaincase Lubricant #2872952, #2873105, and #2873106 are on the list too, and Yamaha is covered as a brand. A part number match gets you close, but do not skip the service chart. Year, model, and housing design decide the drain interval and the fill amount.
Read the cold and hot numbers
Kinematic viscosity is 68.6 cSt at 40°C and 10.3 cSt at 100°C under ASTM D445, with a 136 viscosity index under ASTM D2270. That tells you the oil thins in a controlled way as the case warms up, which matters when your first pull starts from a frozen trailer and ends under load.
Pour point is -46°C (-51°F) under ASTM D97. That is a lab flow number, not a promise that every machine is ready for that temperature, but it tells you the fill can move when cold. Thick, slow oil drags on the chain and steals power before the track or tires ever see it.
Flash point is 236°C (457°F), fire point is 260°C (500°F), and Noack evaporation loss is 5 percent by weight. Low evaporation helps the oil you drain look more like the oil you poured in, instead of losing the lighter fraction during hot service.
Skip ATF and automotive gear lube
Do not use automatic transmission fluid as a shortcut. ATF is a hydraulic fluid, and it does not bring the extreme-pressure additive package a chaincase needs. Loaded chain plates and gears then run without the layer that gives way before the metal does.
Do not swing the other way and pour in automotive gear lube either. Hypoid gear oil is built for a different gear set and runs too thick for powersports chain and gear lubrication. Poor circulation, extra drag, and avoidable wear are the result.
Drain, fill, and dispose
Change it at the machine manufacturer's interval. Synthetic oil does not automatically stretch a chaincase service, especially in a small sealed housing that can pick up water or wear metal. Warm the case if the procedure allows, drain it fully, and refill to the manual's capacity.
It is compatible with conventional and synthetic chaincase oils, so a small amount left behind will not react. Still, drain the old fluid completely at changeover so you get the performance you paid for. TCCCN-EA is the 16 oz. bottle, TCCCN-CA is the case of six, and TCC05-EA is the 5 gallon pail.
Wear gloves and keep the work area ventilated. The oil can cause mild skin irritation, can trigger an allergic skin reaction, and is harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Put used oil and empty packaging into the right recycling or disposal stream, never into a drain.

Questions about AMSOIL 100% SYNTHETIC CHAINCASE & GEAR OIL
Yes. Arctic Cat Diamond Drive gearcases are listed with snowmobile chaincases, ATV gearcases, and general enclosed chains and gears. Check the manual for your year and model before filling, because capacity and procedure still belong to the machine.
It replaces Arctic Cat Synthetic Chain Lube #4639-363 and Synthetic ACT Gearcase Fluid #5639-219, #4639-361, and #4639-628; Ski-Doo and Can-Am XPS oils #415129500, #293600138, and #9779156; and Polaris SCL #2872952, #2873105, and #2873106. Yamaha is covered by brand.
The ASTM D97 pour point is -46°C (-51°F), which means the oil still flows at that test temperature. Use that as a fluid property, not a full machine cold-start rating. Your owner manual still sets the operating limits for the sled, ATV, or gearcase.
No. ATF is a hydraulic fluid and does not supply the extreme-pressure protection chain plates and gear teeth need. Automotive gear lube is the wrong shortcut too, because hypoid gear oil is too thick for chain and gear lubrication in this type of housing.
It tells you how much the oil changes as temperature rises. This fluid measures 68.6 cSt at 40°C and 10.3 cSt at 100°C under ASTM D445, and the 136 index under ASTM D2270 shows controlled thinning between a cold case and a hot pull.
Change it on the interval published for your machine. The oil is compatible with conventional and synthetic chaincase fluids, so a mixed fill will not react, but mixing gives up performance. Drain the case completely when you switch.
