AMSOIL Spray Grease is the can to grab when a moving metal part needs grease but has no zerk for the gun. Use the white lithium aerosol on hinges, latches, locks, industrial chains, winches, overhead door tracks, thrust bearings, gears, cables, guide rails, springs, bushings, ball joints, receiver hitches, and other exposed pivot points. The 10 oz. can includes an extension tube, lays down a water-resistant film, and helps protect outdoor hardware against wear and corrosion. Clean the part first, then spray light coats.
Use it where the gun will not fit
Spray grease fits external contact points that move, sit out in the weather, and have no fitting for a coupler. Hinges, latches, locks, ball joints, pivot points, slides, guide rails, overhead door tracks, industrial chains, winches, thrust bearings, gears, and cables all sit inside the listed use range.
Nuts, bolts, bushings, springs, receiver hitches, garage doors, and shop hardware round out the list. Think trailer couplers, plow mounts, shed doors, winch cables, and outdoor equipment pivots. If the part is sealed, internal, or running in an oil bath, this is not the right product.
Let the white lithium film work
White lithium grease sprays wet so it can travel through the nozzle and extension tube, then leaves a thicker lubricating film on bare metal. That film is what a thin oil cannot give you on an exposed hinge, cable, or slide that needs the lubricant to stay put.
Once the carrier flashes off, the grease reduces friction, quiets squeaks, and protects the surface from wear. A squeak on a hinge or latch is the part telling you the contact point is dry, and a light coat usually reaches the spot without taking the hardware apart.
The product has a solvent odor because the carrier helps the grease atomize and reach the joint. Give the part fresh air and time to set before you put it back into heavy use, especially around doors, cables, or pivots that collect dust.
Keep water and rust off hardware
Water resistance matters on the exact parts this can is meant to service. A trailer hitch, garage door track, winch cable, or plow hinge can see rain, wash water, mud, and road spray, and a film that rinses away leaves bare steel behind.
The grease sticks to metal surfaces and protects against wear and corrosion. That gives you lubrication and surface protection in one pass, which is useful on hardware that spends more time outside than inside a clean shop.
Spray it clean and light
Disconnect power before spraying electrical equipment. Shake the can well, clean the area, and apply light, even coats. Use the extension tube for tight spots so the grease lands on the metal contact point instead of soaking nearby rubber, plastic, paint, or wiring.
Do not bury dirt under fresh grease. Grit trapped in the film turns the joint into a lapping compound, especially on slides, hinges, and cables. Heavy coats also collect dirt, run off vertical surfaces, and waste the can, so make another light pass instead of flooding the part.
Store and dispose of the can safely
The can is pressurized. Keep it out of sunlight and below 50°C (122°F), and never pierce or burn it, even when empty. A closed truck, a shelf over a heater, or direct sun on the bench can push an aerosol can into the danger zone.
Spray outside or with strong ventilation. Keep it away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames, and smoking. Do not breathe the mist, wear gloves and eye protection, wash up afterward, and keep the can away from children.
GSPSC-EA is the individual 10 oz. can, and it also ships by the case of twelve. It is not for sale in Canada or California. Take contents and container to an approved waste disposal site, because aerosol disposal rules can differ from ordinary shop recycling.
Questions about AMSOIL SPRAY GREASE
It is a white lithium grease in a 10 oz. aerosol can with an extension tube. Use it on external moving metal parts where a grease gun cannot reach, and let the film stay on the metal instead of running away like a thin oil.
Use it on hinges, industrial chains, latches, slides, winches, overhead door tracks, thrust bearings, gears, cables, nuts and bolts, locks, guide rails, springs, bushings, ball joints, garage doors, receiver hitches, pivot points, and similar external moving parts.
Yes. It resists water, sticks to metal, and protects against wear and corrosion. That makes sense for outdoor hardware such as receiver hitches, hinges, winch cables, and door tracks that see rain, wash water, and road spray.
Shake the can, clean the part, and spray light, even coats. Use the extension tube for tight spots. Cleaning keeps grit from getting sealed under the grease, and light coats keep the film from running or collecting extra dirt.
Keep it out of sunlight and below 50°C (122°F), away from heat, sparks, open flames, and smoking. Never pierce or burn the can, even empty, and use ventilation so you are not breathing the mist.
